Christmas

For the first time since I met Shane (1993), we spent Christmas morning at home. Well, actually, I don't think I have spent an entire Christmas Day at one place in my life. Wow. It was still a whirlwind holiday as usual, and we still have not seen half of our family. Twelve days of Christmas? Whatever. We'll take no less than thirty. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the many days out of school and the loads of gifts.

Speaking of meeting Shane, we also celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary (1/1/10). It is impossible to believe it has been that long. We had a good, if uneventful, day with the family.

The New Year itself has been one that I would like to do over. Between family members being hospitalized, theft, heater breakdowns, medical bills, unemployment, pending dental bills, cell phone tragedies, etc. etc., I feel like we are living the Jerry Springer dream. Too bad the show if off the air. On the upside, we are all healthy and alive, and there isn't a day I don't appreciate that! To combat all the drama, I have officially decided to celebrate the Chinese New Year (year of the tiger-that's me) on 2/14/10. I've got my party hat ready!
